Hall of Central Harmony

Here is the Hall of Central Harmony and, behind it, the Hall of Preserving Harmony. Central Harmony was often a place during the Qing Dynasty where emperors met foreign delegations while during the Ming that was mainly done in the Supreme Harmony. The Hall of Preserving Harmony served as the place where the final examinations were given for the exams that Chinese took in order to get into and advance in government service. They were mostly based on the Confucian Classics and were an early system of meritocracy.

Below is a photo of the Hall of Central Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony, at top, and then a series of other scenes, including a couple of little emperors.
